Inverness Co. municipal officials say they’ve been taking input for their active transportation strategy.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, Warden, says they had community consultations in each district last week.
She says the attendance numbers weren’t great- but the input was.
MacQuarrie tells The Hawk it was good opportunity to provide information for residents.
“We heard a lot of things that weren’t directly a part of the active transportation strategy,” she says. “I think the public consultation is also a way of informing people as to just exactly- what an active transportation strategy is.”
MacQuarrie says they discussed how to connect schools to trails, among other ideas to get people walking rather than using emissions.
She says they hope to have the strategy finalized by the middle of next month.
