A man arrested following a hit-and-run in Port Hawkesbury is scheduled to return to court in the New Year.
RCMP say officers were called to a hit-and-run in the parking lot of the Causeway Shopping Centre at roughly 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
They say a 26-year-old Port Hawkesbury man, who was treated by paramedics at the scene, suffered minor injuries.
Police say the driver fled, but they later arrested Forest Douglas Baker, 21, of Port Hawkesbury.
Baker faces five charges- dangerous driving causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, failing to remain at the scene and impaired driving.
He was held in custody until his first court appearance in the case Monday; he was released on strict conditions, including he not operate any motor vehicle and he obeys a curfew.
Baker is expected to return to Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court for a bail hearing Jan. 29.
