One of two former members of the X-Men football team charged following a sexual assault investigation at StFX is scheduled to return to court in February.
Jonah Williams, 19, of Halifax has been charged with three counts of sexual assault against two different women.
Williams was expected for election-and-plea in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until Feb. 7.
RCMP say an 18-year-old told them she was sexually assaulted on campus in November; that led a 19-year-old to come forward and report two separate cases of sexual assault on campus.
Tyler Ball, 18, of Truro faces a single count of sexual assault; he’s scheduled to make his first court appearance Jan. 24.
The pair played defensive back for the X-Men- Williams was in the team’s starting line-up, Ball wasn’t.
A StFX spokesperson tells The Hawk neither Williams nor Ball are still with the X-Men football program.
