The mayor of Mulgrave says town officials are in the early stages of deciding what to do with Mulgrave Memorial Education Centre.
The primary-to-grade six school will close at the end of the current school year.
After this week’s regular town council meeting Tuesday night, Mayor Ralph Hadley said town officials will take ownership of the building in early July.
Hadley told The Hawk they’ve formed a committee to decide how to move forward.
“We called a special meeting to get people to attend and give us some ideas (of) what we want to do with the school,” he said. “(We’ll) find out all of the details, all of the costs and if (Mulgrave taxpayers) can afford to take over the school.”
Hadley said the 15 committee members have a lot of good ideas, but it’s too early to say what could happen with the building.
