Two people facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Inverness Co. have had a date set for their trial.
RCMP say members of the Inverness-Richmond District Street Crime Enforcement Unit laid the charges after they stopped a car on Rte. 19 in Port Hastings in June.
They say they arrested an Antigonish man and a Port Hastings woman after they seized roughly 50 grams of cocaine.
Police originally charged Gabriel Chaisson, 41, and Carol Taylor, 41, with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The pair, who made their first appearance in the case the day after their arrests, were expected for sentencing in February; those hearings were adjourned.
Chaisson and Taylor returned to Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; they’re expected back to stand trial Aug. 16.
