Inverness Co.’s warden says she believes a new public access trail is an important landmark in the community.
Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs golf reps announced a public access trail at the northern end of Inverness Beach at the end of May, allowing visitors to enter the beach without crossing the course.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie tells The Hawk Inverness Beach is one of the many important visitor attractions in the area.
“It’s very much a tourism attraction- there’s many people that will ask, ‘where are the beaches?’,” she says. “We have beaches all along the western side and on the inner side of our municipality, we have the Bras d’Or Lakes.”
MacQuarrie says the trail is very well-built and well-maintained and is appreciated by local residents.
