The Tory MLA for Inverness won’t run for the party’s top job.
Allan MacMaster has decided not to enter his name into the PC leadership race.
That became clear when MacMaster threw his support behind Tim Houston, the MLA for Pictou East MLA and a one of five Tory leadership candidates, at an event in Port Hawkesbury Sunday.
MacMaster, who has served as Inverness’ MLA since his by-election win in the riding in 2009, is the party’s Energy, Service Nova Scotia, and Gaelic Affairs critic; he’s one of seven PC MLAs who have endorsed Houston for the Tory leadership.
Party members will pick a new leader in October.
