A couple from Inverness Co. have been named the woodland owner of the year for the eastern region of the province.
Bill and Ruth Oprel of Glencoe Mills were announced as the regional winner Tuesday.
They acquired their 330-acre (134-hectare) property in 2011.
Provincial officials say they’ve worked to restore the woodlot’s diversity through various silvicultural treatments since then.
