The town’s auditor from Grant Thornton presented the financial statements and audit report from the 2017-18 fiscal year at September’s regular town council meeting Tuesday night.
Town officials ended the year with a $98,000 surplus in their general operating budget.
After the meeting, Mayor Ralph Hadley said they’re in pretty good shape.
“We’re doing quite a bit of work in our areas, we can’t do big projects, but were fixing up our school,” he says. “So I’m very pleased with that, we’re looking at some side walk work, I hope – and small projects we can just do without government help.”
Hadley said they managed to save money by using their public works employees for local projects instead of going to tender.
