Police say they’re investigating speed and impairment as possible factors in a single-vehicle crash in Antigonish Co. that left two people dead.
They say a small car left Hwy. 4 in Linwood, rolled, and hit a tree just before 7 p.m. Sunday.
Dylan Bouchie, 23, from Aulds Cove was driving the car, while Stephen MacIsaac, 27, from Troy was in the front seat; they died at the scene.
Both funerals will be held Saturday- Bouchie in Mulgrave, MacIsaac in Creignish.
Bouchie’s 19-year-old girlfriend, who was in the back seat, was airlifted to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say they “definitely” consider speed and impairment as possible factors in the collision, based on the severity of damage to the vehicle, and evidence they collected at the scene.
They say it typically takes one-to-three months for toxicology results to come back from the lab.
