An Antigonish man charged with two counts of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to stab his wife and three-year-old daughter is scheduled to return to court in October..
RCMP say officers were called to a home on Brookland St. in July.
They say the woman called 911 from a neighbour’s home; the child was with her, and the man was still inside the other home.
Police say the woman and child were taken to hospital by paramedics.
They say officers found the man outside the home shortly after; he was arrested without incident.
Shajev Thomas, 41 was sent for a 30-day mental health assessment the day after his arrest; he was expected to get the results of that assessment in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday.
The report wasn’t ready, and his fitness hearing was adjourned; it was also adjourned in August.
Thomas is scheduled for a status update Oct. 3.
