The Strait Pirates kick off their 2018-19 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League season on home ice.
The Pirates host Dave Marston, their former coach, and the Liverpool Privateers.
Taylor Lambke, the current head coach of the Pirates, told The Hawk Morning show the 2018-19 edition of the team is balanced.
“We worked on our defence over the summer, added a few good pieces back there; I think we’re going to be able to score, and we also added Cody Smith in nets,” he said. “We’re a well-rounded group, we’re going to be fun to watch, and we’re just excited to get going.”
Lambke said members of the coaching staff will wait a week or so to name their captain and assistants.
Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
