Richmond Co.’s warden says they are reviewing the use of streetlights on private roads.
At Tuesday night’s regular council meeting the county’s CAO spoke about private roads receiving their own lights.
Warden Jason MacLean says they need to look into what they can do for the residents.
After the meeting, Maclean said they need to review what they can do before the jump into anything.
“As far as private roads go that seems to be something that’s growing in popularity for sure,” he says. “I guess we just have to be extra cautious about taking too big a leap forward with that one and opening it up to a point where we might really be exceeding our budgets.”
MacLean said they would take in more information on what they should do before making a decision.
