I'm a Judiquer, it was there that I got my start with public speaking through my school (Judique-Creignish Consolidated) and church. I had great teachers who encouraged me to get involved with school and community activities.

I joined The Hawk (when it was CIGO) in 1979 and have been here ever since. My career started on-air and I eventually became General Manager and then in 1994 my wife Brenda and I bought the station. (Brenda has worked here since 1984).

We married in 1988 and have 3 children, Cameron (who is part of the Hawk family) Heather and Courtney.

I also host Highland Fling (the station's longest running show) Sunday evenings at 6. It's an hour of Cape Breton fiddle, piano, bagpipes and gaelic singing.

Outside of the station I am past President of the Strait Area Chamber of Commerce (3rd time as President), President of the Granville Green Society and a board member with the Cape Breton Fiddler's Association, Career Development Association of Inverness-Richmond, Festival Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury EMO.

Other interests include KingMac Properties Limited, Maple Signs & Engraving (a division of Maple Brook Investments Limited) and SBD - Technology Innovators Limited.
