Two cousins who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of an Inverness senior will spend time behind bars.
Justice Cindy Bourgeois gave Kyle Timmons, 21, of Port Hawkesbury a three-and-a-half year prison sentence during a sentencing hearing in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Port Hawkesbury Thursday; his cousin, 20-year-old Brandy Timmons of Inverness, received a three-year sentence.
The pair pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the June 2008 death of Ivan Rorison; the 70-year-old was beaten, robbed, and left to die in his home.
Seven people were arrested and charged.
They all pleaded guilty to manslaughter; six have been sentenced so far.
Richard James Benson, 27, of Waycobah is expected to learn his fate Sept. 15.
