Man charged in fatal crash has case adjourned

A man arrested following a fatal two-vehicle crash in Antigonish Co. will return to court in March.

William Fogarty, 31, of Antigonish was arrested and charged after the November crash on Hwy. 4 in Tracadie that killed Nico Landry, 17, of Monastery and Kory Mattie, 16, of Linwood.

Fogarty was originally charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death; police added two counts of impaired driving by drugs causing death Tuesday.

He was scheduled for election-and-plea in Antigonish Provincial Court Thursday; instead, the hearing was held Wednesday, and postponed until March 8.

In December, Fogarty's case was adjourned so he could find a new legal aid lawyer.
