Pirates host Junior Miners for make-up game

It's the battle of Cape Breton in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Thursday night.

The Strait Pirates host the Glace Bay Jr. Miners at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.

It's a make-up game after weather conditions led to the cancellation of the match-up last Friday.

The Pirates are first in the Sid Rowe division; they're one point up on second-place Antigonish and six points ahead of third-place Glace Bay.

Pirates Head Coach Tim MacMillan tells The Hawk his team is in the middle of a tough stretch.

"This week is a very, very jam packed week. We had a number of our players last night playing in the BurMac Cup in Antigonish," he says. "Now we have two more games, Thursday and Friday. Although these guys are fit this is certainly going to be a test of that fitness."

Puck drop is 7:30 p.m.; you can get period-by-period updates on The Hawk.

The Pirates host the Cumberland County Blues Friday night.
