Man charged after Arichat break-and-enter has case adjourned

A 21-year-old man charged after a break-and-enter at a Richmond Co. business is expected back in court next month.

Police say officers arrested Thomas Joseph Smith of Albert Bridge during a traffic stop in the Isle Madame area in September and seized cash and stolen property related to a break-in at Dooley's Pharmacy in Arichat earlier that month.

Smith faces a charge of possession of stolen property and a breach; police also issued two motor vehicle act tickets.

He was scheduled for election-and-plea in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Wednesday; instead, it was adjourned until March 7.
