Impaired driving suspect has case delayed

The case of man charged after police got an impaired driving call has been adjourned.

Richmond Co. RCMP have charged John Darryl Marshall, 39, of Chapel Island with several offenses under the criminal code, including flight from police, resisting arrest and impaired driving.

He was scheduled for election-and-plea in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Wednesday; the hearing was adjourned until April 4.

Marshall also has several violations under the motor vehicle act in relation to the incident.

Police say they were called to Dooly's Pool Hall in Port Hawkesbury in September, but their suspect had already left.

They say officers found the suspect's vehicle on the 104, but he had already taken off on foot; officers and a police dog tracked him down and arrested him.
