A Waycobah man charged after an attempted robbery in the community is expected back in court Friday.
Inverness District and Baddeck RCMP officers received a report of an armed robbery in progress at Rod's One Stop Jan. 27; police say a suspect with a toy replica gun was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Charles Joseph "Junior" Bernard, 49, faces two weapons charges, one count of assault, and a theft charge.
Bernard made his first appearance in the case in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; it was adjourned until Friday, and he was sent back into custody.
