Pirates beat Blues at home

The Strait Pirates have won their second game in as many nights.

The Pirates held on to beat the Cumberland County Blues 4-3 at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Friday night.

Matthew Miller scored a pair; Nick Allard and Sean Tyler had singles.

The Pirates had three unsportsman like conduct penalties in the game.

After the game, Miller told The Hawk there was some frustration on the ice.

"Everyone was trying to do everything by themself and when that happens everyone just loses it," he said. "With the new rule now it's if you say anything they call it right away and you are in the box for two minutes."

The Pirates add two points to their lead in the Sid Rowe division.

The Antigonish Bulldogs overcame the Pictou County Scotians 5-2 at the Antigonish Arena.

The Dogs remain three points back of the Pirates.
