Suspect in Inverness Co. bust has case adjourned

A man arrested in relation to a drug bust in Inverness Co. is expected to return to court in February.

Kenneth John Googoo, 51, of We'koqma'q has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis and oxycodone and possession of a prohibited weapon.

RCMP say officers from their Inverness Co. and Victoria Co. detachments and members of the Street Crime Enforcement Unit searched a home in We'koqma'q in December.

They say they found marijuana, oxycodone and brass knuckles, which are considered a prohibited weapon.

Googoo, who made his first court appearance in the case shortly after his arrest, was scheduled for an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; he wasn't in court, and his case was adjourned until Feb. 13.
