Port Hawkesbury man facing assault, harassment charges makes court appearance

A man from Port Hawkesbury charged with assault and other offences has had his case adjourned.

Police arrested Josh Nicholson, 30, following an incident Christmas Eve.

Nicholson was expected for an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on charges of assault, criminal harassment, two counts of break-and-enter with intent and a firearms offence Monday; his lawyer wasn't able to be in court, so his case was adjourned until Feb. 27.

He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and six months of probation after he pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon in relation to a bear spray incident in Port Hawkesbury in 2012.
