Suspect in two Whycocomagh busts pleads guilty

A man facing drug charges after a search of an Inverness Co. home, then arrested again has entered a pair of guilty pleas.

Christian Brendan Wray, 20, was arrested at a home in Whycocomagh and charged with marijuana production in July.

Wray was granted bail on strict conditions, including an early curfew and a banishment clause, which doesn't allow him on Cape Breton except for court matters.

RCMP also arrested Wray after officers seized live plants, dried marijuana, growing equipment and shatter, which is a highly-potent marijuana derivative, at a Whycocomagh home in Feb. 2016.

Wray pleaded guilty to production and possession for the purpose of trafficking during an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; a second possession for the purpose of trafficking charge was withdrawn.

He's scheduled for sentencing Feb. 27.
