Bulldogs host Scotians in rare mid-week game

The Antigonish Bulldogs have a rare Tuesday night game in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

Antigonish hosts the Pictou Co. Scotians in a make-up game.

The Bulldogs (10-13-6), who have won back-to-back games, are second in the Sid Rowe Division with 36 points; the Scotians (10-17-3) are in a three-way tie with the Strait Pirates and Cumberland Co. for third, five points behind.

Richard MacKenzie, Antigonish's head coach, tells The Hawk they have to take it one game at a time as the regular season winds down.

"You can't really get too far ahead of yourself- (Tuesday) night is the most important game of our year so far, and after (Tuesday) night, Friday night will be," he says. "That's just the way it is- it's an old cliché (one game at a time), but it's really true, at this time of year especially."

Pictou Co. has won two of the first three games in the five-game season series.

Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 7 p.m.
