Port Hawkesbury man charged by ICE unit has case adjourned again

A suspect charged by members of the RCMP's provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit has had his case adjourned.

Police say they arrested Malcolm Smith in August 2016.

The 29-year-old from Port Hawkesbury is accused of making arrangements to commit a sexual offence against a child.

He was released on conditions.

Smith's case opened in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court in November; it returned to court Monday morning.

His election-and-plea hearing was adjourned until March 27, as he said he hasn't been able to find a legal aid lawyer.
