X-Men go for series sweep against Acadia at home

The StFX men's hockey team can book their spot in the AUS final- and the national championship- with a win on home ice.

The X-Men host the Acadia Axemen in game three of their best-of-five conference semi-final; SFX won the first two games of the series in Wolfville Thursday and Friday.

Brad Peddle, the head coach of the X-Men, tells The Hawk they can't afford to lose focus at this point.

"We talk about just staying grounded, staying humble- the series is far from over, and the last one is the toughest to win," he says. "Acadia is do-or-die, and we've got to treat it the exact same way."

Puck drop at the Keating Centre in Antigonish is 7 p.m.

If StFX wins, they advance to play the winner of the UNB-Saint Mary's semi-final in the best-of-three AUS final; it also guarantees them a spot in the 2017 U Sports Men's Hockey Championship, hosted by UNB in Fredericton, in March.

If Acadia wins, the series stays in Antigonish for game four Tuesday night.
