We'koqma'q man facing drug charges has matter adjourned

A 51-year-old We'koqma'q man arrested after two separate drug busts is expected back in court in March.

Police say officers from Inverness and Victoria Co. RCMP and the Street Crime Enforcement Unit searched a We'koqma'q home in December.

They say they seized marijuana, oxycodone and brass knuckles.

Kenneth John Googoo faces counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis and oxycodone, as well as possession of a prohibited weapon.

Police say they also searched a We'koqma'q home earlier in February and seized marijuana products, pills and cash; they charged Googoo with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and a breach.

His case was adjourned in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday morning, when his legal aid lawyer said he's waiting for disclosure from the Crown.
