Suspect in two Whycocomagh busts sentenced to jail time

A man who pleaded guilty to drug charges after a search of an Inverness Co. home, then arrested again, will spend time behind bars.

Christian Brendan Wray, 20, was arrested at a home in Whycocomagh and charged with marijuana production in July.

RCMP also arrested Wray after officers seized live plants, dried marijuana, growing equipment and shatter, which is a highly-potent marijuana derivative, at a Whycocomagh home in Feb. 2016.

Wray pleaded guilty to production and possession for the purpose of trafficking during an election-and-plea hearing in January; a second possession for the purpose of trafficking charge was withdrawn.

He received 90 days in jail and two years of probation during a sentencing hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday.
