Man charged following Port Hawkesbury standoff due in court

A man taken into custody following a standoff in Port Hawkesbury is due to appear in court.

Byron Arthur "Brad" Parks was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm in March.

The charges were laid 10 days after officers blocked traffic and evacuated a number of residents in the Tamarac subdivision due to a standoff situation.

Parks is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on Monday.
