Quad Counties voter turnouts above record-low provincial numbers

Cape Breton-Richmond had the highest turnout of voters in the provincial election.

Nearly 70 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots in the race; that was the highest percentage of all of the province's 51 ridings.

Inverness was not far behind with nearly 68 per cent; Antigonish had a 63 per cent voter turnout, while Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie was the lowest of the Quad Counties ridings at 59 per cent.

Voter turnout at the provincial level was less than 54 per cent; that is likely the lowest percentage since the first provincial election in 1867.
