ENSE returns to Antigonish

The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition gets underway in Antigonish Wednesday.

It's the 153rd edition of the annual event.

Donald MacLellan, the manager of the exhibition, says they've averaged about 12,000 paid attendees in past years.

MacLellan tells The Hawk a number of factors determine how many people show up.

"The weather plays a big role," he says. "This year, we haven't got the parking we'd like to have."

MacLellan says shuttle service will be offered from Antigonish Market Square Friday-to-Sunday.

He says the event has a positive impact on the region.

"It's a very good thing for the community," he says. "The community really supports it."

MacLellan says it's a friendly atmosphere, and a great way to end the summer.

The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition takes place at the exhibition grounds on James St. until Sunday.
