Businessman, former town councillor scheduled to return to court

An Antigonish man charged with a pair of child porn-related offences is expected back in court Wednesday.

Police say members of the Antigonish Street Crime Enforcement Unit, the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Technological Crime Unit found child porn when they searched a home in Antigonish in January.

John Robert MacIsaac, 70, faces two charges- possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

RCMP say he was arrested without incident and released on strict conditions.

MacIsaac, a businessman and former Antigonish town councillor, is scheduled for election-and-plea in Antigonish Provincial Court; the hearing was adjourned in February, March, July and Aug. 16.
