Former town councillor, businessman facing child porn charges has trial date set

A businessman and former town councillor in Antigonish facing a pair of charges involving child pornography has entered a not guilty plea Wednesday.

John Robert MacIsaac, 70, has been charged with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Police say members of the Antigonish Street Crime Enforcement Unit, the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Technological Crime Unit found child porn when they searched a home in Antigonish in January.

They say officers arrested MacIsaac without incident; he was released on strict conditions.

He's scheduled for trial in Antigonish Provincial Court November 2nd.
