Police investigate Antigonish Co. carjacking; third suspect at large

RCMP say two people are in custody following a carjacking in Antigonish Co., but a third remains at large.

They say they received a call from Hwy. 4 in Tracadie just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the dispatcher could hear a woman screaming and tires squealing.

They say they were told three men took a man and woman's car at knife point; the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the woman had minor injuries.

RCMP say officers found the vehicle in the Pomquet area, with the knife used to threaten the victims inside.

They say they've arrested two men, but they're still trying to find the third.

Police say Antigonish RCMP continue to investigate with help from members of the Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit, Northeast Nova Traffic Services and the Antigonish/Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement Unit.

You're asked to call police or Crime Stoppers if you have any information.
