Bulldogs go for first win against Privateers

The Antigonish Bulldogs are on home ice in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

They host the Liverpool Privateers.

The Bulldogs (0-1-1) are winless; they won their season opener against the Valley Maple Leafs, but the result turned into a forfeit loss because two players weren't properly registered.

The Privateers (1-1-0) have a win and a loss.

Dave Synishin, Antigonish's head coach, tells The Hawk he wants a better start after his team was a step behind in their Sept. 22 loss to Cole Harbour.

"It was a good result as far as getting into overtime and then into a shootout, but in our rink, I think we have to kind of own the pace and own how the game is played," he says. "We were a little bit behind in that fact, but certainly (we'll) hopefully bounce back with that type of effort."

Game time at the Antigonish Arena is 7:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs play their first road game of the season when they visit the Miners Sunday.
