Bear Head LNG official says they're working on building market

Officials with Bear Head LNG say things are moving along in the process to bring liquefied natural gas to our province.

Paul MacLean, Strategic and Regulatory Affairs Advisor, says the focus now is securing a pipeline path from Ontario.

He says their CEO has been in the province meeting with government officials, regulators and market participants to build a case and build interest.

MacLean tells The Hawk they've seen positive response from the West Coast after two LNG projects were not continued there.

"We're very positive about the outlook for East Coast LNG," he says. "We hope to have agreements in place before the end of second quarter, 2018- the response has been extremely positive from Western Canada."

MacLean says they're very positive about the outlook of potential success.

He says there's a glut in the market now; the oversupply should be through the system by 2022-23- that lines up with their timeline.
