Thefts suspect has charge withdrawn

A man from Richmond Co. facing charges in relation to a string of thefts in the Evanston area has had one of his charges withdrawn.

RCMP arrested Kirk Collier, 21, in Aug. 2016

They charged the Whiteside man with four counts of theft under $5,000, five possession of stolen property charges, and a single count of break-and-enter.

Collier, who was released from police custody shortly after his arrest, started his case in Oct. 2016; he had a status update in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday.

He completed the Adult Diversion process on his break-and-enter count, and it was withdrawn; he continues to go through Restorative Justice on his remaining charges.

Collier also faces theft under $5,000 charges and a count of trespassing at night in relation to thefts in Evanston in December.
