Pirates, Elks face off in Port Hawkesbury

The Strait Pirates host the Brookfield Elks in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Pirates (5-6-2), who have lost two of their last three, are third in the five-team Sid Rowe Division with 12 points, five points behind Pictou Co. for second, and four points ahead of fourth-place Antigonish; the Elks (1-9-3) are last in the six-team Fred Fox Division with five points.

Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they want to use this game to get back on track.

"The last couple of games we kind of got away from our game plan," he says. "(Friday) night it'll be important (that) we get back to what we want to do as a hockey team- play fast, get pucks in deep, and make sure we bring the work ethic, and I think we'll be ok."

It's the first game of the season between the teams; it's the Pirates' only game of the weekend.

Puck drop of the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
