Inverness Co. drug bust suspect has case adjourned

A man arrested after a traffic stop in Inverness Co. is scheduled to return to court in the spring.

RCMP say officers conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 104 in Port Hastings in August.

They say they searched a vehicle, and found dexamphetamine, codeine, other drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles.

Sean Dale Simon, 36, of Port Hawkesbury has been charged with a pair of possession for the purpose of trafficking counts, two weapons-related offences and three breaches.

Simon made his first court appearance in the case shortly after his arrest; he was released on conditions.

He had an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Wednesday; he's expected to have a trial date set on the weapons counts and breaches, and for a preliminary inquiry on the drug charges April 12.

Simon also faces a count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking in relation to a vehicle stop on Reeves St. in February; he's scheduled for trial in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court in that case March 12.
