Bulldogs welcome league-leading Miners to Antigonish

The Antigonish Bulldogs host the top team in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League when the Miners come to town.

The Miners (16-2-1) lead the five-team Sid Rowe Division- and the league- with 33 points; the Bulldogs (6-11-2), who have lost two of their last three, are fourth in the division with 14 points, three points back of the Pirates for third, and 12 points ahead of last-place Cumberland Co.

It's the third game of the season between the teams.

Dave Synishin, Antigonish's head coach, tells The Hawk they played the Miners close in a pair of October losses.

"I think what we did very well the last couple of games was taking the middle of the ice away from them," he says. "They like to come up through the middle, which can be dangerous certainly at times."

Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 7:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs wrap up their weekend with a trip to Springhill to take on the Blues Sunday night.
