Pirates host Scotians in divisional match-up

The Strait Pirates will try to gain some ground on the Pictou Co. Scotians in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League when the teams square off in Port Hawkesbury.

The Pirates (7-8-3), losers of three straight, are third in the five-team Sid Rowe Division with 17 points, nine points behind Pictou Co. (11-3-4) for second.

Taylor Lambke, the team's head coach, tells The Hawk they'll have to be prepared right from the opening face-off.

"They're a fast, hard-working team- I think they play similar to us," he says. "It's going to be a tough test, but we'll be ready to go."

The Pirates have won the first two games in the season series.

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.

It's the first half of a home-and-home series- the teams meet again in Trenton Sunday night.
