Cameron MacEachern

In conversation with the woman of my dreams

Talk about a whirlwind day. Things started off on Tuesday at noon when Kelly informed me that I had an interview with the love of my life, Kate Beirness of TSN, to talk about the Kraft Celebration Tour coming to Port Hood. Here's the video of that surprise:

">.

Then Kelly sent that video to Kate, who circulated it to a co-worker, then ended up being tweeted by several staff at TSN. Here's my interview with Kate:

Then Kate e-mails Kelly to tell her that I'd be making an appearance on SportsCentre in the evening, and again on the Morning Loop with Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole. Here's the clip from Tuesday night:

">.

And from Wednesday morning:

">.

So, it's been an eventful 24 hours.

Playoff Predictions: Conference Finals

2-for-4 last round. Nailed the Sharks/Wings series. Brutal job in the East. Whoops.

Eastern Conference

(5) Tampa Bay def. (3) Boston in 6 games

Western Conference

(2) San Jose def. (1) Vancouver in 6 games

Playoff Predictions: Round Two

Second round of the playoffs are upon us. You can see below how I did on my predictions - 5-for-8 which is pretty okay for me. There are almost always upsets in the first round, so I went with that mentality when making my picks... so of course this is the year where there would only be two upsets and they can hardly even be classified as such. That will teach me to ever go out on a limb again in my life. Round two:

Eastern Conference

(1) Washington def. (5) Tampa Bay in 6 games
(2) Philadelphia def. (3) Boston in 6 games

Western Conference

(1) Vancouver def. (5) Nashville in 5 games
(2) San Jose def. (3) Detroit in 7 games

2011 Playoff Predictions

Playoff time is here again. It's the most wonderful time of the year... and it's time for predictions, too, of course. Here are mine:

Eastern Conference

(1) Washington def. (8) NY Rangers in 5 games
(2) Philadelphia def. (7) Buffalo in 6 games
(6) Montreal def. (3) Boston in 7 games
(4) Pittsburgh def. (5) Tampa Bay in 6 games

Western Conference

(1) Vancouver def. (8) Chicago in 6 games
(2) San Jose def. (7) Los Angeles in 5 games
(6) Phoenix def. (3) Detroit in 7 games
(5) Nashville def. (4) Anaheim in 7 games

Yes, I picked the Habs, so excuse me while I go take a nice long shower... that will probably last until the end of the playoffs... in hydrochloric acid. Lots of people are picking the Bruins to come out of the East so I'll look and feel like a total idiot if that happens because the Habs are the worst. But i think they'll take that series. I also have Phoenix as an upset over Detroit. The Nashville-Anaheim series is a real difficult one to call and I've flip-flopped on it since the regular season ended. Enjoy the playoffs, folks. It doesn't get better.

Canada WJC Roster Prediction

It's just about everyone's favourite time of the year: World Junior Hockey Championships. Canada looks to be sending a strong team, as usual, to Buffalo. Maybe not as strong as the hosts, but strong nonetheless. With this being written in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, the first round of cuts should come in a few hours time as selection camp has been ongoing for a couple of days now. Before those cuts come, here's my best guess at who you'll be watching as you stuff leftover turkey down the hatch.

J. Schwartz – B. Schenn – B. Connolly
B. Pirri – S. Couturier – L. Leblanc
C. Eakin – R. Johansen – Z. Kassian
Q. Howden – C. Cizikas – C. Ashton
B. Ross

J. Cowen – R. Ellis
C. de Haan – E. Gudbranson
S. Despres – D. Olsen
R. Murphy

O. Roy
C. Pickard

So there you have it. We'll see how I stack up once coach Dave Cameron announces the final roster in a couple days.
