Cape Breton West Islanders Pick Up League Hardware

Members of the Cape Breton West Islanders were singled out for their work at the 2017-2018 Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League year-end banquet on Friday.

Kyle MacDonald was named Coach of the year...Michael Matthews - Volunteer of the year while Sean Stewart and Calum MacPherson were both named to the First all star team.

The 2nd all star team includes Jack Morris, and Stephen Fox was recognized as top goal scorer and league MVP!

 

Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Result (from Antigonish Friday)

Antigonish Bulldogs - 4

Pictou Co. Scotians - 3

Taylor Leger led the Dogs with a pair...singles from Giovanni Akeson and Brian MacDougall.

The Bulldogs lead the best-of-seven, first-round series 2-0 series.

The series returns to Trenton for game three Sunday night.

The Miners lead the best-of-seven, first-round series, 1-0
