Saturday December 2nd
9:30am Wild WELA Advent Hike, Celtic Shore Coastal Trail (level ground trail just past the Hillsborough Hall, Rte 252) All are welcome! Round trip is 4km. Sponsored by the Whycocomagh East Lake Ainslie Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada

Sunday December 3rd

Church Services at St. Andrew's, Stewart United and Holy Trinity

2pm L’Arche Cape Breton Christmas Tea, Waterfront Centre
In gratitude for the support and faithfulness of our neighbors, friends and community, join us for some Christmas music and a retelling of the Christmas story. Tea and treats; free will offering. Display of greeting cards, weaving and art available to purchase.

5:00-6:30pm “Breaking Bread” (Season of Advent Potlucks), Cameron Hall. Everyone is invited to attend! Bring yourself and food to share; tea provided. Taking place on Dec 3rd, 10th and 17th: same time and location each week.

Monday December 4th
7-9pm Fashion Show & Shopping Night at The Farmer’s Daughter. Join us for a night of fashion, fun, snacks and shopping with 25% off all purchases in the gift barn! RSVP online or call (902) 756-9042.

Tuesday December 5th
7pm: Yoga with Kelly Bernard, Whycocomagh Waterfront Centre. Open to everyone! Admission: Bring an item for the food bank

7 to 9pm: Guided Lantern Hike and Campfire, Farmer’s Daughter Event: Open to ages 14 to 18, Participants will meet at the Market, go for their hike and return for cookies and hot chocolate. Pre-register by calling (902)756-9042. Cost $5 (two or more teens in a family only pay one single admission rate)

Wednesday December 6th
6 to 7pm Christmas Show & PJ Night, Cameron Hall. Hosted by W.H.Y. Group? Youth Group. Come dressed in your cozy pajamas to watch a show and enjoy some treats.

Thursday December 7th
6:00 -7:30 PM: Drive-Thru Bethlehem, L’Arche, Iron Mines,. You are invited to come, drive thru in your car and be transported back to Bethlehem where the greatest story ever told, the birth of Jesus, still lives on. This outdoor drama is presented through-out the L’Arche property, please turn on Ashfield Road and enter at The Ark in order to keep traffic flowing in that direction. Freewill offering

7:00pm Christmas Open-Mic Jam Session at the Waterfront Centre. Bring an instrument or come by to join in singing or just listen! Adm$5. All are welcome!

Friday December 8th

1:00-3:00pm Festive Friday at Whycocomagh Co-op & Helen’s Bakery: Join us for treats, sampling and in store specials.
Draw for a basket of goodies from Helen’s Bakery, a Cape Breton Taste of Home this Christmas.

6:30pm Christmas Parade, Main Street, Whycocomagh:
Food bank donations collected along parade route by WEC Student Council. Please view parade along Main Street only!

7:00pm Community Christmas Tree Light-up, St. Andrew's Church. Sponsored by the Whycocomagh & Area Lions Club. Santa, treats and hot chocolate!

7:30-9:30pm Chase the Ace, Whycocomagh Fire Hall

All Day Saturday December 9th and Sunday December 10th
Little Taste of Christmas at The Farmer’s Daughter: Tax free shopping in the Gift Barn. Enjoy sampling new and old recipes from the bakery and grill. Door prizes throughout the weekend and a contest for the kids!

Saturday December 9th
9-10am North Pole Breakfast, Waterfront Centre Sponsored by the Whycocomagh Development Commission: Kids eat free and enjoy some holiday activities!! Get your personalized picture with Santa taken by Donna Murphy: A 5x7 picture is $5.
Adults can purchase a waffle breakfast for $8 (includes waffle, fruit, sausage and tea/coffee)

12:00-4:00pm Christmas Market & Festival of Trees; Whycocomagh Education Centre. Wee Folk Café, Entertainment by Orangedale Special
Great selection of gift and personal items with over 35 vendors! Come out and support local shopping!
Admission is $2, $5/family

12-3pm Jingle Bell Take Out Pork Chop Barbeque, Whycocomagh Education Center
Take out BBQ pork chop dinner (Baked potato, pork chop, coleslaw, apple sauce and a roll) One pork chop $8, two chops $10.

Sunday December 10th
Church Services at St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Stewart United and Holy Trinity

10am-12pm Karen and Tim’s Favorite Things, Brook Village Grocery. Enjoy samples of imported cheeses and local goods. Hot chocolate and gifts for kids; tea/coffee for adults.

1pm and 3pm Cookies and Stories with Santa at the Farmer’s Daughter. Children will decorate their cookie to enjoy while listening to stories from the jolly old man himself! Each child/family will have their picture taken with Santa and will receive a digital copy. Pre-register by calling 902-756-9042. Price is $5 (for a family up to four kids) or $7 (for a family with five or more kids)

7:00pm Christmas Airs, St. Andrews Church
Hosted by Celtic Star Chapter #19 Order of the Eastern Star. Enjoy an evening of holiday music by local entertainers!! Tickets are $10 each (available from any Celtic Star member or by calling Linda (902-756-2402), Jessica (902-756-3455), Diann (902-756-2941), Fred (902)756-2764
