Mitch's last performance for Canadian Idol Monday
Monday, September 08, 2008 , 07:52 - 1015thehawk.com

Mitch MacDonald's Canadian Idol journey will come to a close on Wednesday.

But it's not a bad thing as he has an opportunity to make history as the first Atlantic Canadian to win the singing competition.

The 22-year-old Port Hood native is up against Lethbridge Alberta's Theo Tams for the final performance tonight with a two-hour results show on Wednesday

Premier Rodney MacDonald has been following Mitch's journey on the show since it started and says he represents Nova Scotia well.

"He's made his mark not only for Inverness County but for all of Nova Scotia and indeed all of Canada.  It's quite an accomplishment to be in top 2 in the country for Canadian Idol and he's really something else."

Fans will have two hours to vote after Monday’s show.

CTV's live-feed results viewing party is being held at Bayview Education Centre in Port Hood on Wednesday.
