GASHA has announced changes to its H1N1 vaccination strategy, as well as changes to clinic schedules.
As of Monday the vaccine will only be available to high-risk groups.
Those groups include; children under five, pregnant women, people in First Nations communities and health care workers.
If you're not in any of these groups, you won't be able to get the vaccine during the clinics.
Instead you'll be vaccinated at a later date.
GASHA says the change is because of concerns about national vaccine supply levels at this time, although public health officials say there is enough vaccine for everyone who wants it.
An updated clinic list is available through a link on our website www.1015thehawk.com.
Meanwhile, GASHA will keep a flu assessment centre, in the Clare Marie Gathering Place, next to Saint Martha's in Antigonish open for at least 1 more day.
The centre will be open from 1 PM to 7 PM Monday.
You can get an assessment from a health care professional if you're experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The centres are for assessments only, not for vaccinations.
A GASHA spokesperson says things have been steady since the centre opened on Friday. |
