The Inverness County councillor for Belle Cote says the community could have its post office sometime in December.
At Monday's regular Inverness County council meeting, Gloria LeBlanc said the person lined up for the postmistress position passed her French test; now, she just needs to go through a police background check.
LeBlanc tells The Hawk she doesn't believe that will be a problem.
"According to what we have been told, we are hoping that we will have a post office up and running by Christmas," she says.
LeBlanc says residents have been waiting for the service for a year, and they had been getting worried. |
