A Port Hood native will soon be inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.
Two-time Grey Cup winner Bruce Beaton will be enshrined this Saturday at a gala in Halifax.
The former lineman was drafted in 1991 by the B-C Lions and bounced around the league before finally winning the Grey Cup in 2003 with the Edmonton Eskimos.
Beaton tells The Hawk the championships highlighted his career.
"Well the highlight was definitely winning those championships, the two in the CFL, the 2003 was a culmination of a lot of years of hard work."
Beaton now lives in Kentville and helps coach the Acadia Axemen where he was a three-time CIS All Canadian while playing there. |
