There's a new deputy warden in Inverness County.

Cheticamp Councillor Daniel Boudreau took over the position during Monday's monthly council meeting.

Boudreau says it's an honour.

"Well it's very nice of our council members to appoint me. Again to the position of Deputy Warden and it's more of an honour role than anything else. And we're all glad to accept the position."

Boudreau says he looks forward to working closely with Warden Duart MacAuley.

He replaces former Deputy Warden Ed MacDonald.

MacDonald's 1-year term came to an end Monday.
